Online collaborative writing - Neil Anderson

Teaching online provides great opportunities to develop writing as an outcome-focused collaborative activity. This workshop will consider how to make use of simple, common apps such as Google Docs and Jamboard to facilitate collaborative writing, in particular considering how to stage a lesson effectively, with ideas for what to do before writing and what to do after writing is complete (i.e. feedback). The ideas are for groups of A2+ teenagers or adults from studying online but the central principles apply to teaching writing face-to-face too. We'll also discuss other issues related to writing - the so-called "neglected skill" e.g. how much to do in class vs. homework.
